Answers to questions you didn't ask about Counsell, Shohei, Ross and
The Cubs will hold their official "introductory” press conference for their new manager Craig Counsell later this morning, and I’m sure they’ll play all the hits. They’ll make him wear a jersey over his dress shirt, Bruce Levine will “welcome” him to Chicago, Sahadev will ask a nine part question about the pitch lab, and maybe, just maybe, somebody will ask him about how guilty he feels “breaking the code by taking a job when there was already a manager in the job.”
That’s just one of the burning questions I want to write about over the next few days.
So let’s get started with that one.
Why is there supposed to be an unwritten rule that you don’t take a managerial job if there’s already a manager in that job?
