Gameday: An open letter to George McCaskey
This only ends one way, so just get it over with.
What exactly is it that would you say you do around here? Your title is apparently chairman of the Chicago Bears, which doesn’t really clear things up all that much.
But I can tell you what it seems like you do. It seems like you are in charge of wasting our time, making us question our own sanity and cursing our parents for allowing us to grow up as fans of the very franchise you are stewarding right into the shitter.
Take tonight for example. Your Bears will be in Lambeau to take on the Packers in the continuance of the league’s most played rivalry. The game will be played in prime time on national TV and none of us are looking forward to it one bit.
We, as fans, are in a no-win situation due completely to your inability to gird up your loins and do the obvious and inevitable.
By not firing the visor wearing, offensive fraud of a head coach that you have, we’re stuck facing the overwhelmingly likely reality that the Bears are going to be annihilated, again, by the Packers in front of God and Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth. But, on the off chance that they somehow win the game (and it would take most of Packers deciding to skip it and just hang out at an Oneida Casino) our ability to enjoy one of the biggest upsets in professional sports history would be nullified by the sheer terror that you’d somehow see that as reason to keep Matt Nagy.
