Cubs splash the Yen and get an actual good player. We think. Probably.
In hindsight, we should have known Seiya Suzuki didn’t stand a chance. On Monday night he was subject to the patented Tom Ricketts charm offensive over dinner at a fine chain restaurant in the greater Scottsdale area. Sure enough, Suzuki woke us all up on Wednesday with the news that he was signing a five-year, $85 million dollar deal with the Cubs.
