The Bears are good at these games that don't count
Why did I watch the entire second preseason game? So you didn't have to. And, because I am dumb.
The Bears are in Seattke for their second preseason game of the season, which is just terrible scheduling. If you were going make teams play a Thursday night game why not in the first week of the preseason?
And, it gets worse because ESPN isn’t even using their ‘a’ team of Joe and Troy. We get Steve Levy, Louis Riddick and…ugh, Dan Orlovsky.
Orlovsky says in the open that Justin Fields is in the worst situation for any quarterback in the league given his offensive line and skill position players around him and you know what Orlovosky?
You’re right. Never mind.
Because it’s a short week, the Bears are only going to play their starters somewhere between six and ten plays. Well, the Nathan Peterman Fan Club is going to love two hours of him wandering around on national TV, I guess.
Like last week, Roquan Smith is on the sidelines for the Bears. This time he’s wearing an Obvious Shirt that says I JUST FLEW HERE FOR THE AIRLINE MILES.
The Bears receive the kick and Velus “Velvet” Jones Jr. is back to receive it.
It’s first look at Velvet, who didn’t play in week one of the preseason. He fields the kick at the one, turns on the jets and gets out near the 30 where he…fumbles. Oops.
Velvet recovered his own fumble. He’s already stuffing the stat sheet.
