This is exactly why I will never subscribe to the Marquee Network. What Mike McCarthy didn't say, that speaks volumes, is that while going live, so that Marquee Network can't be accused of ever doing this again. Marquee Network will dictate to sportswriters before going live what they can and can't say on the air. Warning the sports panel not to be critical of the Cubs, Ricketts family or Jed Hoyer.
Pat Hughes (not that he would) should be invited on The Reporters show. Incredible talent to make bad Cub baseball sound passably listenable without offending anyone, let alone management. Of course Pat also has that rare two-way ability of making great Cub baseball also passably listenable.
