This is as close to the rightful successor as there could be to Brickhouse and Caray. Kasper was a long-tenured place-holder. Not charismatic enough to adore but not so tedious he needed to be replaced, Kasper was fine - kind of like a guy you don't mind sitting next to on the Metro because he's inoffensive. Sciambi has a chance to be that next guy who connects.
